Brits: Goodbye to 'greatest pilot ever'

I thought of Bob Hoover when I watched Eric's videos. Another great test pilot. Escaped after getting shot down in Germany flying an enemy plane out. Met Bob at Sun-n-Fun years ago, nice man.
 
I recently watched an interview with him telling stories. And what stories they were!
 
Watched a documentary on him last year. Impressive to say the least.
 
What kind of nickname is Winkle? Maverick, Iceman, Jester, Goose....now those are nicknames of a pilot...
 
I would put " snort" SNODGRASS and jeffery quill right along side this fellow. There are many of them!
