Curious if anyone has stumbled onto a slick way to add bluetooth capabilities to a headset. Looks like getting 'built in' bluetooth connectivity adds about $2-300 to the price of a headset. Knowing that pilots are generally pretty thorough tightwads, I figured someone has come across some sort of whiz bang plug in adapter thing that gets the job done for less.

Looking for both ear and mic functionality - to be able to use phone to call for clearance through the headset when necessary.

Thoughts?

Just get a LS Zulu3 or Bose A20. The whiz bang adapter thing is not really cheaper in the long run.

I'd love to hear of one, too. I use this, for work:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08MBCMCQJ

Which allows you to connect standard 8 ohm PC or stereo headphones to a phone via bluetooth, but the microphone is built into the device. So the mic would be kinda lousy in an aircraft, and the headphone is 1/8" stereo, not aviation. I would love a version that could be adapted to a headset. Oh, the pic in the page make it look large, but it's really only about 2.2" x 1" x 3/8".

I use it because iphones saved 20 cents by not having a headset jack, and I want a lightweight headset rather than one where the battery and radio are by my head.
