It's SeaFair in Seattle. That means many things to different people, but to pilots (and a few others) it means the Blue Angels are in town. A friend gave my wife and me tickets to a private party at the Museum of Flight today which gave us ring side seats to the flight line. Show center is over Lake Washington, a little distance away, but we watched the take off and recovery, plus a number of the maneuvers from a little distance away. And, of course, Fat Albert. The best part of Fat Albert's routine is at the airport for take off and landing, anyway.

Enjoy the pictures. I took 495 today (including a few of non-Blue Angel aircraft), but I'm just uploading a few. Gotta love digital cameras. 35mm would have broken the bank.

A few years ago I was flying in the Seattle area a couple of days before SeaFair, and heard Approach issue traffic at BFI: " ... a Blue Angel F-18 climbing through 8,000 over the departure end of the runway ..." :hairraise:
