It's a pretty good beer and it has the aviation theme but I like their "Hop Drop 'n Roll" IPA better.

Had me some PBRs today, old school baby. ;)

Denali Brewing, Single Engine Red is pretty tasty!

What is she holding?

I found this little bit of info. I guess that is what she is holding.
"The 'Widowmaker', a pneumatic drill that operated without benefit of water to lubricate the bit and cut the dust, was introduced to Copper County mining in the 1890's. While greatly improving productivity, the drill became known as the 'Widowmaker', killing many of the miners who used it from illnesses related to prolonged dust inhalation."

Yeah that's it, a mining drill. It's brewed in Houghton, Northern U.P. Of MI. It tastes very smooth, easy, not nearly as strong(tasting) as it looks.

I have a local beer in WI I'm testing out soon. It's named after a local Bigfoot story, 'Beast of Bray Road' I think it is. I actually motorbiked to the brewery last Friday but they were out of it. I got a 'growler' full of an alternative brew. I may have to call ahead next time I want to ride up and refill my growler.

Almost all of the Keweenaw beers are really tasty! I'm not a big fan of light beers so the Pick Axe Blonde and November Gale Pale Ale don't get consumed much but the Red Jacket Amber Ale, Lift Bridge Brown Ale, Widow Maker Black Ale, Take the Edge Out Stout and especially the Olde Ore Dock Scottish Ale are consumed in mass quantities any time I make it to the U.P. or when I convince my Michigan firiends to bring/send me some!

A great line up of beers...

you forgot to put 'NA' in this totally non-aviation related post. sheesh man. but they do look tasty.

Hangar 76 is the name of my homebrew operation...never gonna be worthwhile to take the name beyond the kitchen taps though.

My home brewery was named "Bush Pilot Brewing Company" back in 2004. I brewed professionally for a while, got a few medals here and there before I was through.

Necro-thread on aviation themed beers. Flight deck brewing in the old pistol range of the former NAS Brunswick ME. Pizza was good too.

Fly Baby German Style Pilsner is a tribute to Bob Hesse, The Grandfather of Shoe Tree Brewing founders Jeff & Paul Young. German Lagers became grandpa Bob's favorite beer while stationed in Germany. Serving in the Army as a corporal, he taught history and English to noncommissioned officers. He became a pilot after his service. Later in life he bought a single cockpit, bright yellow, fly baby airplane; that is this beer's namesake.
Grandpa Bob was an undertaker for over 40 years, where he used his plane and skills as a pilot to scatter ashes for countless families. He loves the outdoors, backpacking, & fishing, passions he passed along to Jeff & Paul. Grandpa Bob is 89 years young this year & still enjoys his nightly lager.

Cheers to you Grandpa Bob!
