Sure, Rich - I think there will be enough food that we don't have to worry about it - we're figuring two pieces of chicken per person AND almost half a pound of bbq, plus veggies and desert. I know I won't eat that much. I hope.

And I may buy one extra pound of Q.

    :)

He's gonna swing into GMU so I don't even have to trek to FLO ;) You'll have to come down one weekend when I'm back there, or when I stabilize my income, I'll get checked out at Powers and fly up. We need another bowling excursion. :D

I talked to Brook about getting the tea, or did you order that from the same guy too? I'll be happy to pick it up from BBQ lodge if needed.

Setting us little guys up nicely for rwy 32. I just hope I don't have a flashback of Henning's landing in Bob's 310 from the last time we went up there for BBQ!

Just made it home. What a great time. Enjoyed meeting the new folks and the ones I'd met before.

But, man, I've got to rethink my direction of flight for these lunches. I was looking right into the sun for one hour coming back from GMU. My right arm is tired from holding my hand up as a shield! Poor William had it worse -- the angle on our flight to GMU put the sun right in his face the whole time. Oh well, at least CLT gave us direct when we were about halfway there!

As always, fun to see those you know and fun to meet new folks as well! A nice day of flying, although I got to enjoy some of that sun in my face on my trek west.

Thanks, Tom, for putting this together, the food was outstanding.

And big thanks to mystery pilot(s) "X", who graciously took care of us all.

I third that - and it was great to put more faces with names. And since no one has commented on it yet - an awesome collection of airplanes on display as well!

Y'all, it was just GREAT - really. Went off perfectly, good food, WONDERFUL company!! I couldn't have asked for anything more (well, except if they had been able to deliver it instead of me leaving in the middle and driving to Durham to pick it up!).

I promised our benefactor that I wouldn't say a word as to who it was, so I'm not gonna, but I'm sure he knows how much we all appreciate it! It took a lot of explaining - everyone wanted to chip in! :)

Thanks again, y'all, for making it such a good time. :)

Oh, William ... FOUR HUNDRED PICTURES? How can you take four hundred pictures??? ;)

I'm glad you folks had a great time up there. Perhaps I can make one of these sometime coming up.

At least I flew a Chandelle and Lazy Eight today for the first time in eight months and I did them well... from the right seat. Miracles! :goofy:

I, too, enjoyed putting a few faces to names. (A group photo with list of names might help some stick!) Thanks for organizing it, Tom. Thanks also to the anonymous benefactor.

Web version number one.. If any information is incorrect or you would like it presented in a different way, let me know. I'm going to alter the levels on the original picture and try to make a worthy 8x10.

Edit: I see one or two minor errors in my caption. Sorry. :D

awesome! great job Tom on organizing a great event getting friends together for fun. be advised that once you organize one of these things, and people come and have a ton of fun, you will be doomed to organizing another and another. but its FUN!

very true! and eventually the event just sort of organizes itself, and thats when you have really created something great.
