Aviation Related Music!

Rocket Man -- Elton John
Theme from Top Gun

There is a beautiful little folk song about aviation but I forget who sings it. If you want to go the extra mile contact Tom Gresham at GunTalk.com. He knows the musician. Tom is an avid pilot and hosted the Wings to Adventure television show.

I thought the theme from top gun was music that was more for guys that like to oil each other up and play volleyball together as fore play?

John Fogerty - Travelin' Band

Fly Away, Lenny Kravitz.

Nothing from Lenny Kravitz is aviation related.:rofl::rofl: That little sucker won't get on a small airplane for nothin'.:lol::lol: You're gonna have to look a little more metaphorically on that one.;) He's singing about disencorperated flight.

What? No Sinatra fans?

"Come Fly With Me"
I prefer Dick Jonas' (Vietnam F-4 pilot) version of another Sinatra classic:

"Let's take a trip over Hanoi
We've got the bombs and the [biblical beasts of burden]
Let's kill a SAM site,
Let's drop 'em in tight,
Let's get away with it all!"

BTW, as long as I'd mentioned him, thought I'd post his web page:

He's got a lot of flying songs, both traditional and those he's written himself.

The classic recordings of traditional pilot songs were done by Oscar Brand during the 50s and 60s... "The Wild Blue Yonder" is the classic military set, with "Up in the Air" being civilian-oriented tunes (such as the "Teterboro tower" mentioned earlier).

I've got a bit of a write-up on the histories of some of the classic flying songs at:

Mrs DenverPilot says that's the best scene ever in filmmaking history. Direct quote. She just said it after I explained why I was laughing at my iPad. Haha.

Your song reminded me of another.

Ramblin' Man - Allman Brothers
Jessica - same ... Works too.
