AvareX "This Cycle"/"Next Cycle"

Today is the day before the next database cycle. In AvareX I'm selecting "Next Cycle" from the database page, tapping on an item, say a TAC bundle I've not used before, and hitting the "Download" button but nothing seems to happen. It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm on the main server or the alternate server.

Am I doing it wrong?

Today at 2100z, the day before the next cycle, I was able to get it by deleting the existing databases and adding them back in while hitting the "download" button after each delete/add step.

I'm pretty sure I did that very same thing last month and it didn't work. If so, that could just mean that the feature was broken then and fixed now. Or it could mean that next-cycle availability is spurious and not regularly scheduled. Unfortunately, there's nothing in the app that tells you whether the next cycle is available or not.
