Autopilot for Turbo Arrow

Is there something wrong with STec 3100?
I just had one installed in my 414, it has been pretty solid for me. Cheaper than the GFC 600, but it wasn’t available to install in a 414 anyway.
I have dual 275’s and a GFC 500 in our 182 and it’s been great as well.

I’m really glad I paid for auto-trim on my Arrow III GFC-500 install. I especially appreciate that, when I cancel the AP, the plane doesn’t suddenly require control force because of a (minor) mis-trim. Makes me feel far more confident knowing exactly how the plane will feel when I take controls.

IMO get the GFC500 and the auto trim. In a couple years you will be glad you did. This is my buddy's PA28R-200.

Thank you! So far thats the plan, GFC500 should work flawlessly with the G5s And GNX

You'll pay twice as much, but the GFC500 is obviously a better option. If your goal is to just take some of the load off for long Cross-Country flights, then the Aerocruze will be adequate, and the savings will pay for the fuel on those long cross-countries.

Ended up going with an Aerocruze 100. All the quotes I received for a GFC500 were 3x as expensive.

Will update when I get everything installed in ~ October or November.

I'd go Garmin and ditch the yaw damper, not much need in an Arrow and Pitch trim is also a luxury vs required if you are trying to save $. Trim Servo is way back in the tail in a PA28 and that adds a bunch of labor cost too.
I agree about the yaw damper but not the pitch trim. Auto pitch trim is so great compared to having to trim it all the time when the warning comes up. The auto trim works a lot more than you think and would be much better to have than not for the price.
