Hi folks, I'm just wondering if there are still some users of this GPS out there. I tried to update the 4-4-2013 database and the atc unit just will not accept the update. Anywheremap has suspended their phone and chat support and I'm not getting any email support either. Any thoughts?

Ever sort this out?

You can download open source gps software and use that. Or you can use the old database for vfr. I've not updated mine in 2 years.

Anywhere map has their own forum which is relatively active. They even have a section dedicated to the ATC: http://forum.anywheremap.com/viewforum.php?f=35

That's the link I used to fix the issue. No additional problems since the April update. I see they still don't have any phone support. Anyone know if they are answering e-mail support? Don't think this company will be around much longer!

How does a non-computer savvy guy like me get this open source gps software?

The ATC (i.e. HP iPAQ 310) is not very friendly as far as changing the software. I have one that I will be putting up on eBay soon. Right now I have another AnywhereMap system up. If you want to fart around with a cheap system for PDA or Windows tablet/laptop, try Approach Systems. The basic setup has more functionality than AnywhereMap but costs only $9.99.
