    something like this? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/skewtlogpro/id522720710
    i see some good reviews, but wanted a pirep.

    WeatherSpork has the data, but that opens up in a browser window, kinda defeats the purpose of having the app and the fidelity that comes with it.

    essentially i am looking for a pilot friendly Skew-T app for iWorld i guess

    I use SkewTlogPro on my iPhone and really like it. Nothing negative to say about it.

    Mine was free. There may be a subscription upgrade. Go to the Ap Store and find out.

    i see the price is $15 which is fine, it doesnt say its subscription based and their website is not very helpful either. b/w is the app interactive or just provide static images?

    <begin rant>
    why do these app developers not have a 7 day trial?
    <end rant>

    I was hoping ForeFlight would add these to their weather products, particularly when they Brought Scott D. on. I'm not sure if he's still working with them though, and further I recall him saying back then then something along the lines of that skewTs would be too complex for folks to interpret without training.

    I agree on the complex part, I am going thru Scott s training now and even with that it’s mind boggling. The easy part is the temp dew point spread but there is so much more.

    I think I vaguely remember Scott went diff direction and started his WeatherSpork, which has been pretty great and I use it all the time. Not sure if he is with FF or not though.

    I use it all the time to judge icing conditions and thunderstorm risk.

    A series of static images at one hour intervals. You swipe right and left to go forward and back in time.

    A very nice feature is the route. Instead of all images being for a fixed location, the location will change with time, according to the straight-line route that you specify with a certain departure time. Screenshot below, for a point along a route from O’Hare to Oshkosh, where it looks like maybe a risk of icing at 2500’

    I use this app. I like it fine but I have not done a lot of comparison.

    IIRC skewtlogpro is just rucsoundings.noaa.gov under the hood anyway.

    Had a intro to it in ground school. Have never used it except that someone at the glider field would break it out. That was once in a blue moon.

    I use that app as well. Works fine and makes it easier to judge the icing risk in winter.

    Use it, love it. $15 is cheap for an easy to use interface to the data

    Interesting that Scott D responded here about not being at ForeFlight anymore, but has since deleted it.

    I will explore the 1:1 as well, but without learning the basics, I suspect it won’t be best use of one’s time

    Scott did some great stuff with ForeFlight, but has moved onto other things, WeatherSpork included.

    Edit. ah, I see @GeorgeC already linked them.

    For those who recognize the name, Ed Williams ("Aviation Formulary") did a two part talk on the Skew-T some years ago. I took his audio and PowerPoint slides and, with his permission, put them together into the YouTube videos in this playlist. Part 1 is heavy on parcel theory but is really necessary for understanding the convective information. It's what I used for my self-training.

    His activity here is a little strange. Shortly after he posted the message that Foreflight canceled his contract in 2017, I went searching to find an old message thread that I recalled he participated in. It turns out he deleted nearly all of his previous messages on POA. I have no idea why, but it was very unusual.
