I have a client who needs a blimp...well, does not NEED but rather WANTS a blimp. I don't mean a used car dealership blown up by Uncle Earl kinda blimp, I mean a giant Goodyear sized fully branded legit blimp for a special event flyover for an afternoon.

Anyone got one layin around?...or if not know where to start for that kinda request in California? (yes, I know how to use Google, Bing, and the interwebs but wanna tap the WEALTH of aeronautical expertise and experience here...gwad know that there is plenty of hot air here to fill said blimp!)

...and yes, they can afford it which is why I am asking.

...and no, my NDA can not let me tell ya what for.

Who has an extra blimp stashed in their hanger?

Get the Monkey to Northern CA and I will get him on that blimp...once I find one.

Come on out to Carson. I'll distract the ground crew - you speed away :)

LOL, you got that right. I think it takes them a half hour to get from Carson to KTOA

There is probably others. Google "blimps for hire" and all kind of stuff pops up.

They went out of business years ago and their airship rather quickly disappeared from Moffett.

Which is why he should be able to swing a good deal on the now disassembled airship that is sitting in cold storage.

A blimp doesn't require much of a lead. Its not moving that fast and its a big target. Depends on the range of course.

That's IS what we're talking about right..?

According to Wikipedia that one from Moffett was shipped back to Germany.

Wasn't there one based at Petaluma?

Van Wagner Aerial Advertising is probably the group you want to talk to.

They're going to be the cheapest, I can 99% guarantee that. As for how long of a contract you'd have to sign, no idea, but you're going to be well into 6 figures a month to get one running.

That said, the advantages of a blimp are, well, few. If you want to use it at a stadium for TV work, its cheaper to use an airplane or helicopter.

There is nothing cheap about a Zeppelin. IIRC, they go for somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 million new.
