Another Flat Tire Today

A beautiful day today here in Indy. I got up early to go flying and what do I find when I get to my hangar? I have a flat tire. A lot of construction at the airport so I'm guessing FOD is to blame. So now I am stuck at home with the "honey do" list.

Could be chinese junk tubes.

Had both of my brand new small bow tire tubes fail ( as in along a "seam"), failed a few months apart, tossed in some new ones I had from airframes Alaska (and whomever the order them from) zero issues.


BTW, if you anrt changing them yourself, do so and have a AP show you if needed, this is probably like one of the top 3 ways pilots get stuck in less than ideal airports/strips, having to knowledge and stuff to do this repair yourself is critical.

The annual is due anyway, so I will have the tire repaired at the same. Probably a good idea to learn to change the tube as the same thing happened last year.
