Velocity's are nice. (simple Sabre guy here). And I agree it's a good idea to slow down before you meet the planet..... That looks like a plain old botched hook..... ouch....

If they don't make any more, we'll run out of them in ~250 years, from parachute pulls at the current rate. :)
