And the hits just keep on coming... (engine probs)

1 in 8 what I was seeing for 3.5 years on the IAR until 3 mos. before the overhaul when it went climbed pretty quickly up to 1 in 2-3 hrs. (which is still in the acceptable range per Lyc.). That plus the metal in the screen/filter made the choice to pull it a no-brainer.

With just over 50 hrs on the overhaul I changed out the mineral for AD today, we'll see what happens next consumption-wise. From what I've read on the subject I expect it go up at least a little.

Dear Steve,

You suck.

All the best,

Ed

I've been very impressed with Poplar Grove Airmotive - They did the engine on the 182 the last two times around, the latest of which was about 9 months ago. In between, we made it 947 hours past TBO. Now that they overhauled it, it's running spectacularly well - They ran it in their test cell for a few hours and that seated the rings so well that we added only one quart during the first 36.5 hours of "break-in" time, and in the 48 hours since we haven't needed to add a single quart.

Needless to say, we'll happily go back to Poplar Grove in the future.
