Amazing surgery for IED Veteran

A lot of folks are not aware that an explosion wave takes the path of least resistance. Sometimes certain body parts are removed during an explosion. It is a very real possibility that damage or removal of that specific area will happen. Repair to that area for survivors of explosions does happen.

It is not new to this war.

Yeah but he got his wiener back, happy days! :goofy:

So we got some good news and some bad news. Good news is the surgery was successful. Bad news is we missed something when vetting the donor. There was this ED thing that slipped through the cracks

An addadicktome.

Seriously though, it's good they figured out a way to help this guy out, I hope it's successful.

So does his medical plan cover physical therapy to ensure he can use his new appendage?

I hope it all works out for the guy.

Wars have a way of advancing medicine. This generation has had some tough times - the protective gear they are wearing now is doing a pretty good job of keeping them alive. But survivors now have to deal with the loss of limbs and other body parts as a result. Previous generations wouldn't have survived those injuries, this one does.
