Hi everyone, looking at a plane that had an engine overhaul at Airmark Overhauls in FLL. I've never heard of the shop, and I'm trying to understand what reputation it has. I can't find much on the web. Does anyoen have any first hand experience with them? Good shop? Any thoughts to share? thanks.

They have been in business since 1975 do 300 engines a year. .Someone must think they are good.

Depends on how much time is on the overhaul and to me the most important part is How long ago was the overhaul performed? If the overhaul is 20 years ago I'd figure it's a run out engine price wise.

Had a C182 that had a Airmark engine it seemed to run ok. Didn't own for long.

Call a local A&P near FLL they’ll know the real story.
Good suggestion. Thanks.

It's being done now. TSIO-550-K

Key question is also, how many hours? If the thing was overhauled 700 hours ago, but isn't burning oil, has no oil analysis issues, nothing bad in the filter, good compression, nothing funny looking with the bore scopes, and good annuals have been done, the engine's overhaul was probably just fine whenever it was done.

They’ve been around for a long time, they must be doing something right.

I had a bad experience with Western Skyways, and was less than pleased with their customer service.
