For hostile terrain flights, I like aircraft that are painted so bright you have to wear shades to comfortably look at them.

Story also indicates he was on RADAR (Flight Following most likely) and was lost from screen contact for unknown reasons, an obstructing mountain peak being high on the list...

They were last seen on radar near Mammoth Lakes,Ca. IIRC, Steve Fossett's remains and wreckage were found in that area. Must be a tough place to search. I wish them a better fate.
