vRef is shooting a really weird price on an A/C that I may be flying cross country to look at tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone around here could help a fellow disgruntled PoA'er out.

Never bothered with vref, just got to take the time and get online and checkout the market

Vref always struck me as a way for certain parties to try to artificially inflate the value of a lot of ancient airplanes.

Some a older airframes hold their value better and have the utility to back it up, al la DHC2/3 C180/5 U206 PA18 etc

Vref is usually high on their price . Look at all the trade papers,to get a more realistic idea of what a particular aircraft should be selling for.

Not sure why someone would buy a new car take a big hit on price 10 years later on sale, buy a plane keep it 10 years and expect more for it than they paid for it.
