The Air Carrier Access Act states "no carrier can discriminate" against individuals demonstrating "a physical or mental impairment" to board with animals. Some airline passengers take advantage of a law meant to protect the disabled. Kind of gives new meaning to snakes on a plane.

Gives the term " Opening up a can of worms" .. a new meaning...:D

Abusing stupid laws is awesome. Those mental health turkeys are freedom fighters. Their fight will some sane day get the freedom to be a loony restricted.
I dare someone to bring an emotional support chicken on their next checkride and invoke one of these laws to justify it. Just make sure you have a spare chicken in your bag in case the examiner fails your emotional support animal.

The only snakes are the airline industry.

My girl has our min pin registered as a service animal, she's in a little black canvas with black mesh duffle bag looking carrier, 9/10 times no one even knows our pup is there, the carrier also fits under the seat, in the space I PAID FOR.

I've had more issues with poorly bred and trained children screaming, pooping, kicking seats and whatnot than any service animal, frankly I have zero chits to give about folks taking their well behaved pets on.

If a dog bites me that was on the plane is their any liability of the air carrier for allowing a dangerous animal on the plane. Or just the person who lost control of their animal and allowed it to bite me.

If your kid bites me I could ask the same question, no?

That scenario is HIGHLY unlikely. Every service dog I hav ever seen has been very well behaved. If it bites you, you more than likely did something to provoke it.

That's the point; these aren't trained service animals, just pets of people abusing an admittedly stupid law because they can't bear to be without their furry emotional crutch.

BS

I've flown on many a flight with dogs in it, I've had my dog around tons of folks, again I'm about as concerned with being bitten by a dog as another pax.

I posted this on a different thread but my wife worked a flight last month from SFO to EWR with a Emotional Service Duck...They put Duck and passenger on the bulkhead seats just like a dogs...

we are talking two different things here. service animals are trained, registered animals. emotional support animals are anything anybody wants. its is getting out of hand, I watched two "emotional support" dogs go after each other in terminal B at DFW the other day. I have seen these support animals sh..it all over the floor of terminals, airplanes, seats. there is no regulation or registration of these emotional support animals and as....clowns are taking advantage of it. I have no problem with service animals, but these as...hats that just want to take their barking, scratching, ****ing, cr..ping pets on my airplane are really getting to me.

Where do you fly out of? I've never seen anything like that before, non my buddies have ether.

Now I have had poorly bred children kick the back of my seat, smaller offspring crap themselves, again it's been the bipeds which have been the biggest issue.

Emotional support night crawlers! I like it! Keep a styrofoam tub of those open on the tray table and I bet you could scare off anyone eyeballing the seats next to you if you were on a non-full SWA flight, if there even is such a thing. :)

I have seen arguments with FAs when entitled crazy people expected another passennger to be re-seated so their pooch can ride on the seat next to them.
I have never seen a problem with trained service dogs. They just curl under the seat and are not heard or seen.

That's the funniest thing posted here in a long time. :) :)

the part about terminal B at DFW might be a clue..........

bob

I just would think that area would be better bred, I've been all over, seen plenty of service animals and "service animals", never seen anything like what was describe here, like I said it's always been the little kids, and people who take a bath in cheap perfume or BO who cause most of the discomfort of flights.
