I was reading the install manual for a device that reads manifold pressure and they suggested one of these hoses for connecting the sensor. Is there much difference between the two? Is there a reason to prefer one over the other?

Just different brand hoses. Both meet mil spec H-5593.

From Aircraft Spruce, Stratoflex 193 by about 15-20%.
