So I'll try to keep this long story short- someone who flies with me had a bad cold and woke up one morning with a lot of ear pain. She went into urgent care and they found a perforated eardrum and sent her home with ear drops. A few days later she was in the ER in extreme pain and barely able to hear anything. Got diagnosed with mastoiditis and spent a couple nights in the hospital getting antibiotics by IV. Fortunately she seems to be recovering- hearing is getting a little better every day.

What are the concerns for her flying in an unpressurized aircraft? How long should we wait or how will we know she's ready? Obviously she'll ask her own doctor but on the off chance they don't know much about unpressurized airplanes I thought I'd ask the question here.
