Had a twin Cessna convention in Tucson and a friend in the Palm Springs area I hadn’t seen for too long. Considered the airlines but what the heck, I have a capable airplane. So last Wednesday Sue and I blasted off against strong headwinds, turbulence and high gusty winds on landing and got to Tucson in time for the cocktail party. Had a great convention and Sunday made the 2 hour hop to Indian Wells, CA. We had a great get together, golf at a fantastic Jack Nicklaus course, good food, etc. Yesterday left KTRM about 9 PDT and after two stops was home in bed by 11 EDT.
So after 3,400nm and something like 18 hours on the tach, I’m pretty happy with the trip. I had zero problems with the plane. It’s a lot of flying, and I wouldn’t want to do it every week, but it’s nice to know the capabilities. Here’s the breadcrumb trail out and back.

Nice trip!
Just casually pop over to Arizona and make it for the cocktail hour, and play some golf in California !
For a longer trip like that, what altitude do you like to cruise at in that plane? C414?

Yes C414. Cruise altitude totally dependent on winds aloft this trip. 10,000’ westbound. FL190 eastbound. Could have theoretically made it back with one stop, but for personal comfort and my conservative nature we made 2.

My lottery winnings never line up with when a well-sorted Cessna 400-series plane is on the market or I would be in one. I enjoy seeing them both in the wild and through trip reports here. I have so far managed to keep my wife from getting inside one, per standard advice.
