Annual Bear Creek Bash will be held at LGC on Friday and Saturday. Flying usually starts at 9ish both days, and runs until late afternoon on the first day and early to mid afternoon the second day. There should be a NOTAM describing pattern changes. If anyone is curious and wants to watch, stop on by. IAC Chapter 3 is a very active chapter and this contest is usually well attended.

Stopped at LGC on my way to MTH this winter. Very friendly fbo staff let us borrow a courtesy car overnight. They stayed late to make sure we didn't need anything else. Had very reasonable 100LL on top of it all.

I'm contemplating options on Saturday. The Moontown pancake breakfast, your competition, or just a jaunt down to Aircraft Spruce. Alternately, a trip to North Carolina to look at a car. Lots of options. Not enough time. Need more Saturdays.

If it sways you, there is a food truck here today and tomorrow. Cheesesteak sandwiches and such.

Ed, remind me. What color is your airplane, just in case we make it down there?

How’d you do today, Ed?

Waycross would be okay, but it doesn’t quite have that old-time homey vibe thing. Next time schedule it for Davis Field, 3J6, @GoFly ‘s home drome.

I would argue that Waycross has a more "how did we ever end up HERE?" vibe than Lagrange. I got stuck in Waycross overnight on my first real (post-PPL) cross country.

Reasonably good. 4 out of 9 after first flight. No big mistakes. The guys above me are in much more capable airplanes.

Tomorrow I get to fly my own sequence, which is designed to take advantage of the strengths of my aircraft. So maybe I can make up the points deficit on one or two of them.

Wow, my own sequence was much better! Wound up winning both the second and third flights, and my category.

How's this for some gaudy bling?

Really enjoyed seeing you and your flying buddy again, and looking at your spectacular RV-10. Thanks for making the trip! Hope you found the contest interesting.

That's friggin' awesome - congrats!!!

It was good seeing you to you and seeing the Decathlon. Nice job on recovering and painting the fuselage. I wish we could have stayed longer, but my friend Steve had to be home by early afternoon. We did get to see a couple of the upper level contestants perform the rolling 360. That looks like quite the exercise in coordination.

A sidenote is that I ran into Jerry Esquenazi, who's a friend from the RV world. His story is that y'all let him run the event. ;-)

Thanks for the comments on the RV-10. My son and I half-disassembled it this morning. It is going back to the paint shop - there have been problems with the paint sticking on its belly since Day 1, and the paint shop (located on my home field) is gonna take care of it over the next week or two, but part of the good friend deal is I disassemble and reassemble, they take care of the paint part.

Wow, small world! Yes, Jerry is the Contest Director. Super nice guy!
