Hi, i have a nice amount of prior dual training and solo flying, i passed the written, and now i'm looking for a good school to finish up, living in Rockland county in NY, any of the northern NJ schools could potentially work, i'm looking for a school with a nice program, enough instructors and well maintained aircraft's, reasonable pricing, and most important a school that won't try and fail you to make more money.
My alternative option that i am considering, is just flying out to a school that has an accelerated program anywhere in the nation, and complete all of it in 7-10 days. any recommendations on this front and personal experiences would be very appreciated.
(it might be that this information is already discussed in other thread, but unfortunately i wasn't able to find the info i'm looking for)
    Thank you

For my ASEL, was getting the impression I was being taken for a ride by my Part 141, so went to an accelerated “finish up” school in FL (who had the same impression of my being taken advantage of) and was done and check rided (rode?) in four days. No regrets.

I instruct both 61 and 141. While 141 implies less hours, that is seldom true. Especially if you are not training 3 days a week. I can complete 95% of my students more quickly and less expensively Part 61.

The reason is simple. The 141 requirements are higher than Part 61 both for the ground and flight training. The accelerated Part 61 program is bare minimums. So when you say I finished in a Part 61 accelerated program because the 141 program was taking advantage of me, you are making improper comparison.

Not having been directly involved, you really have no idea.
I was not intending to compare Part 141 vs 61 - simply alledging that the earlier 141 was dragging me along to their advantage. An impression that the latter Part 61 confirmed; to the effect of “you’re well prepared for Check Ride”. I’ve since met others with the same impression of this specific earlier program.
