A very impressive pilot has passed

Aw shucks. I was kinda hoping the body of your message was going to say "...his tiltrotor rating checkride" or something cool like that.

Nevertheless, I'll be sure to raise my glass for the man next time I have a frothy beverage in hand.

Sadly no but the phrase "tiltrotor rating checkride" is making its way into something soon. What an awesome random free association.

Awesome. I posted here awhile ago about a pilot I met who was getting on a flight I was riding jumpseat. I figured he was about 75 or so. Turns out he was 96. He flew a P-51 for his 96th birthday. He's still actively flying in Alaska. Amazing guy.

Ya know what? That might have been who I thought this was. I recall the thread about the almost centurion pilot. I queried everything I could think of looking for the thread because I thought surely, this is the guy.

I guess not. I can't imagine living that long let alone still being able to fly.
Good for them
