A Positive story about an Airline!

Great job on the captains part,good to see people still have a heart.
 
they did an awesome thing for that girl, and hey, the captain got some pattern work in!
 
I thought when long-haul flights took off, they carried too much fuel (weight) to land again? Or does that depend on the airplane?
 
They never left the ground, they just taxied back to the ramp from waiting in line to takeoff

I read it as "consulted with ground control", and took it as they were still on the taxiways.
 
Great story - but you'll notice that it wasn't a US-based airline that used common sense and compassion for a positive outcome...
 
Nice move on El Al's part. Yeah, it cost them some jet fuel and some time, but you can't buy that kind of good publicity. Good on them.
