During Oshkosh, I had a surprise opportunity to chat with Ralph Maloof, and record our conversation. I met Ralph the night of the night airshow, when my friend Bill Harrelson had invited me to watch the show from his campsite in "homebuilt camping".

Ralph is 95 years old, has been flying since before WWII, and - most notably - had a very interesting career as an aerospace engineer through which he got connected with some of the most prominent pioneers of aviation: Lindbergh, Hughes, Yeager, Lear, Turner - and the list goes on.

Hist stories of flying in WWII and of all those famous people are absolutely fascinating. This video is long; you can view it on the YouTube site and find a chapter list in the description. From there you can quickly jump to any chapter.
