A great PnP flight and a wonderful FBO at KIND

So, I planned to fly a local dog to Indy on Tuesday to the person who adopted it. Indy? Fly into Eagle Creek? Have lunch at Rick's? Write off the flight? Okay, twist my arm!

But when checking the weather Monday evening the TAF for noon Tuesday called for 28G40@290. That's 70 degrees to KEYE rwy hdg. Nope! I don't think so.

Postponed the trip a day.

Checked weather Tuesday evening. TAF calls for 20G30@290, still a 70 degree crosswind. Okay, sporting but do-able. So, I let everyone involved know the trip was on.

Then, early Wednesday morning, I decided to check into flying into KIND since their crosswind runway was better aligned with the wind. So, I called Signature to see if they offered any compassion flight discounts. "Sure," was the response, "we'll work something out."

And when they found out that it was a PnP trip they got excited (literally). Just last month they chose PnP as their primary charity to support and they were excited since this would be the first PnP dog to fly-in since. She told me about how the employees donated all their tips over Final Four weekend to PnP. They raised over $800.

I told her that our (a buddy came with) original intent was to fly into KEYE so we could have lunch at Rick's and her response was "it's only a 15 minute drive, if you come here we will make sure there is a crew car available for you."

So, we flew to KIND instead. Indy approach vectored me in a big circle around the city as we were coming in. I guess they thought I wanted a scenic tour! ;-)

That FBO was the best, they were all excited to see Hannah (the dog) and immediately started posing with her and taking photos. That first shot below of the two ladies, me, the dog, and the plane was taken with 5 minutes of us landing. They escorted the dog inside where more photos were taken with almost everyone that worked there.

They had a PnP wall of fame inside with everyone's photo who had donated thus far and had already made a spot for their first four legged participant to be displayed.

This dog was a rock star in their eyes! It was fun.

After things settled down, they handed me the keys to the crew car and we went off to Rick's for lunch. A great lunch as it always is at Rick's.

I came back to settle up with them and continued to be amazed.

They completely waived the "handling" and "environmental" charges $50 total.

But, to my complete amazement they matched the fuel price of EYE. A freakin' $2.85/gallon discount.

I tried to give them $20 for using the crew car, they refused. So I told them to give it to the lineman, they refused. So, I told them to put it into their PnP fund, they accepted.

Wow, just wow. I'll be back sometime...even at full price. These people were over-the-top great.

Here's Hannah being treated like a Rock Star within 5 minutes of parking:

^^note the chocks on ALL THREE wheels 'cause it was blowing hard on the ramp!^^

Here's the FBO ladies still rockin' it with Hannah inside:

Love it! I might just have to steal that and send them a "thank you" card using that play. ;)

That was awesome! I just received my package and t shirt from PnP. I hope to start transporting when my plane come out of the annual.

Where does one get that? I met a second leg pilot one time who was wearing a PnP tshirt I want one.

I've flown five PnP missions. Nothing like it!
