747 E-4B Nightwatch at LAX

That thing lands at Davis Monthan AFB at least ten times a year and usually stays a couple of days before it goes home. It keeps one engine running at all times and they hook up cooling water to it which pours out in front of the right main landing gear. Not the engine, the systems they have on board that overheat otherwise. By the time they leave it looks like it rained just on that area. We can tell it’s coming because they have about 10 rental cars and vans lined up before it lands.

I guess I’m just too simplistic and practical, but if this thing is so capable, why don’t we slap a new coat of paint on it and use it as Airforce 1.

It landed at KLNK in 2020- it flew close enough for me to get a decent image of it. I don't understand the "...first appearance in its 51 year flying history", unless they mean at KLAX.

Too little usable space...think RC-135 on steroids...

certainly not as nicely appointed at the VC-25A...unless the E-4 has been radically updated.
