Doing some minor clean up on the rats nest of wires from my GFC500 installation. Everything works, but nowhere near what i would call "neat". In the process of looking around I noticed a switch that is depressed when the throttle lever is put to full. It clicks nicely, but one of the two terminals has a wire that has been cut. For the life of me I can't figure out what it might do? I suspect it's been like that for the 5 years I've owned the plane and there is no obvious "other end" hanging around.

Anyone know what it's for?

I'll have an A&P do any fixing required, I'm just trying to understand what it could do.

Bingo! - was originally equipped with AC, since removed. That explains the cut wire. Presumably to shut AC off on take off if you didn't follow the checklist.

Thanks, one less worry

Nitrous oxide injection at full throttle? If not than that is what I would wire it for.
