6Y9 2023 Fly in/camp out

Is there parking for a RV (the vehicle, not the airplane o_O)?

Well guys and gals, hard post to type. Jeannette had both knees scoped in July and her recovery hasn't gone that well. She started PT last week and her therapist really doesn't want a gap in her therapy, so I made the call to cancel out trip to the UP this year. We are going to miss everyone, I won't name names because I am sure to leave someone out. We were even planning to spend another 10 or so days in the UP which is something we have wanted to do for quite a while. Good news is that the trip is planned, so most of the hard work is already done, just need to change the dates. Don't have too ,uch fun without us, but do be safe out there.

Hoping for a speedy recovery

Hope she’s doing better soon.

Yes. This will be the third year in a row that we've brought our RV40 (40' bus) up there. Plenty of room. My parking spots is reserved, though. ;)

Very sorry to hear you won't be there Tim, we'll miss you. But it's important to have consistency with the PT.

Can we put the date as part of the title?

6Y9 is always held on Labor Day weekend every year. One week from today we'll be driving our bus up. :)

So today, we had 5 turkey hens and 18 chicks enjoying the runway.

We had a domestic pig visit the camp and none of the locals know who it belongs to...

Since Jeannette can't come, if anyone plays piano (or guitar, or ukelele, or ?) and wants to bring some song books, that's always fun for a few.

Looks like a great group from the sign up, and there are always others that come that are not part of PoA, so should be another great year.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, and we will SO miss the ones that can't make it.

I guess it's time for my annual "OH man.. I wish we could come!" post. Hope y'all have a great turnout this year. We miss the Fredricks! Still hope to get our boys up there sometime. By the time we get there, our oldest will be the same age as the "I've never had an airplane ride before..." kid from way back! Crazy! Somebody give Diz an extra hug from the Joneses!

We'll be doing N. Fox this weekend. The benefit is I can keep the plane mostly packed for 6Y9 :).
Nice! NFox has been on my list for a while. I've also been eyeing Two-Hearted.

I had to laugh...that "kid" is now an adult that we see often at the local haunt. Nice guy. He actually helps keep the grass mowed at the camp where you could hardly stand up!

Both of those are on my possible list for tomorrow

Sorry we are going to miss you guys and the singing too. Hopefully we will see you at Gaston’s then .

We're not going to make it.
Plane broke and I won't be able to get it fixed in time. I called the primary specialist who said they could absolutely fix it but they couldn't get me in before November.

My local mechanic can fix it but he can't get in for about 3 weeks. I called the salvage yard to see if I could source the part that's busted hoping any A&P could install it but they don't have one so I don't think there's any way to get this fixed in the next week.

Bummed. Have a sloppy hoppy for me.

That's a bummer. If the cirrus is available, I'm sure you could catch a ride from LNL or a number of other Midwest airports.

In other news, it's looking like Mrs.K isn't going to be able to come up. I'm still hoping to make it up one night to drink all of Andy's beer.

I'll say it again..."that's not good news" either
Hopefully, miracles will happen on both counts

I'll throw in the "If anyone has kids, go ahead and bring them" post. Our kids will be there, and they enjoy getting to meet and play with other kids.

I'm probably heading out to the shop in a bit to try to get a few details worked out on the bus. And then maybe I'll try to get some tires thrown on to test out a theory on improving ride quality (which has nothing to do with the fly-in but I don't really know how to take the bus somewhere unless I've made a change to something on it).
