We had some inclement weather," says the pilot Luis Andrade. "We got some instructions. I followed the instructions. We encountered a mountain and didn't have enough time to climb to go above the mountain and we unfortunately crashed."

Seems factual, I wonder what his instructions were? Go fly into that mountain??

Man, glad they made it out unscathed; attaching a picture for posterity.

I wonder if the “instructions” he referred to are from a controller that gave them last second climb instructions noticing he was about to hit the terrain, or if the pilot’s ForeFlight started screaming at him about the terrain. Regardless, it was avoidable and they are fortunate to be alive. It appears the plane flew a ton near it’s base almost every day leading up to the journey. On this trip from AR to the east coast it apparently started out late at night, flew all night, and was on leg 3 in the morning. Yikes. That can contribute to making mistakes.
