I was browsing the forum when I had a page pop up saying my IP address had been permanently blacklisted due to repeated violations of security policies.
I am posting this from my phone but my desktop is no longer able to access the forum. Any suggestions as to what may have caused this and how to restore my desktop access? I am a fairly analog dude so I appreciate the help!
Jeff

@Jeff Tipton, please try again.
It did it to me again. It popped up a "verify you are not a robot" pick all the pictures with cars . I did that and it popped up with the IP blacklist page .
Is it something on my end?
Thanks. Sorry for the trouble.

I had that happen also. The really weird part was, it happened ONLY on my phone, regardless of whether I was on my home wifi, VPN from somewhere else, or on cellular data. After a couple days it stopped.

I can still access on my phone but still can't view from my computer. I was hoping it would resolve.

It happened to me a few weeks ago. Had to use my phone Wi-Fi to send a message to admin. They fixed it. Before I connected to phone Wi-Fi, I was searching for a way to send an email to POA. All avenues seemed to only point to being on the POA board before a message could be sent. I suppose a public admin email address would probably be a disaster so I understand.

I frequent VAF(Vans Air Force). Similar site. Have never had this happen or speed access issues. Perhaps a completely different backend? Don’t know. Maybe POA has larger traffic volume? Anyway, it’s just curious.

One mention. The device I was using was an older IPad I use while working out on the stairclimber in the hangar. It has an older operating system that can’t be upgraded for a few years and Firefox browser which also can’t be upgraded. It is possible that I selected threads in somewhat rapid fire selection, sometimes from fat fingering, sometimes from really not interested in thread, and then back button. Those quick requests could be perceived as malicous activity. So lately, especially while on that device, I’ve been careful to slow my requests down. So far, I haven’t been blacklisted again. I did receive a few timeouts, seems like 240 seconds, in spite of my slowdowns. I just close the website and move on to something else.

Some years ago, I tried to sign up for a Citabria forum while purchasing my own little Citabria. During the sign-up process, I was somehow immediately flagged as banned. The site said that if I thought it was an error, I should notify the site admins. Naturally, there was no way to notify the site admins without logging in. I never did go back.

Thanks to the person who cleared me for the approach again! Something focal_plane mentioned made me wonder if using Duck Duck Go as my browser might have triggered the security software? I may use another browser for awhile with POA. I admit I am not the most tech savvy dude around.

I further relaxed some of the ratelimiting thresholds.

Thanks George. I know it’s an unthankful balancing act you all have to deal with. I’ve been good for a couple of weeks now.

edit: just saw the address. I could not seem to find it referenced externally. I should have been able to figure that one out though…..

I get this from the government facilities for business tax reports and payments. In my situation, it is always caused by Norton VPN and I have to turn it off or I get a million of those click all the buses/crosswalks, hydrants nags to prove not a robot.

@GeorgeC is this for real something that you're doing on PoA? It has big time scammer vibes. Luckily I had just seen this thread or I'd have thought there was a bad redirect somewhere...

At least do something like make it site colors/theme so that it doesn't seem like a scam:

Oh, and one other thing: I was immediately able to get back onto PoA, so it may not be doing what you want it to anyway.

I've been Banned again. Your IP: 174.238.225.121. Just browsing on my cell phone connection. Logged in on wifi to send this.

This is probably our anti-bot software again. I'll take a look.

I've been Banned again. Your IP: 47.216.196.36. It was my first attempt to access the site yesterday.

@focal_plane, thanks for reporting. Please try again. I relaxed the ratelimiting thresholds some more.

Yes, it's back working. I will probably limit or eliminate using this device any more to access POA since it seems to trigger the 403 response. Not a big deal since I only use this device while working out. For Ref, Device = Ipad Air, ios ver 12.4.7. It was the last update available for this hardware. Browser is DuckDuckGo 7.62.5.0, also last update available for the ios. I used to run Foreflight on it but it's been years since FF would support it. I can access most sites with it still but more and more, it is incompatible with current websites. It just fits nicely on the Stairclimber and it lives in the hangar now. Sudoku still works on it so there's that.

Thanks George

Yeuppp. Got that all last weekend.

I am in Europe now and not an issue but we’ll see when I get back to KCMA soon
