My Special Issuance will become "Not valid after (date)" in a few months
This is be my first one, and I'm confused as to
when I should begin the renewal process?
Somewhere, I've read 90 days prior, and people have told me
that the day before, is sufficient.
I really don't want any lapse to occur.
Also in the previous 6 years, after a CABGx3, I have had no medical incidents, or doctor visits, except for regular checkups. I still remain on my original medications, and have not experienced any flight related distress, and I do heavy physical labor (construction related) on a daily basis.
I would like to procure a 2nd class medical "S.I.", to move up, to a "Commercial" rating, and a somewhat easier day at work.
Is it difficult to change, and will I have to resend all the medical info that was already sent to the FAA, as in a new application?? Or, is what's on record, sufficient for the upgrade?
TIA.
