I've been following it on the few space and technology newsletters I get. It's mildly interesting, but nothing to wet one's pants over.
I often joke about aliens, but I do not believe we have ever been visited. Earth is a backwater. Space is big. Without FTL intelligent species are doomed to eventually die off. Personally, I believe the sun and asteroid impacts are more likely. Another Carrington Event and the world would descend into chaos. A small one mile diameter asteroid impact would as well.
