3/13/2025 Cessna Citation, Mesquite, TX

My best guess of which plane is N525CZ, which FlightAware shows as departing KHQZ at 7:33 a.m. Central today and "result unknown" with only one line of tracking data from ADS-B: course 195, 160 knots, 900 feet. There is a scheduled flight shown for 9:16 a.m. Central from KADS to KMQS. If that's the plane, then it seems like the pilot was beginning a VFR positioning flight from KHQZ to KADS, about 20 nm.

Sounds odd.

I concur. Weather does not seem to be a factor. Single pilot ferry hop, so not overloaded, should have flown just fine single engine. No apparent loss of power, as the aircraft was continuously accelerating and never got slow. Looks like a pretty routine departure until it wasn't.

I concur that weather seemed to be uneventful. This would have been just a few minutes before sunrise.

Note that the ADS-B output shows the heading bugged to runway heading and altitude bugged to about 2500’.
