On a P model 172 the rivets that mount the door to the arm (inside the heater box) rusted out. How do they get repaired?

the pilots seat is adjustable but the copilot seat is higher than I'd like. Any way to adjust it?

FYI: without more info on which year and specific model 172 you have we can't offer much help.

If talking about the heater box mounted on the firewall, your mechanic will need to remove valve body from the flange like the pic below or remove the valve assy from the firewall to replace rivets. Not a fun job. On your seat height, you can install an adjustable seat on the co-pilots side or have seen some owners install a thinner bottom seat cushion.
