The older mountain bike thread but now a road bike review update

Stages, SRM, Quark, even the old school Powertap. They're all fine. Stages just went belly up so you can probably get some nice deals. Garmin if you like to swap bikes a lot, and don't have any special pedal preferences. Don't expect different power meters to give you closely comparable...

Black "Rubberish" Corrosion on Antenna Connector

...and rarely sees rain, but it does get washed several times a year. I'm guessing that the drain holes are plugged, and water has pooled in the belly (as you describe). Next time I'm at the hangar, I'm going to get the creeper out and go under the plane to clear out the drain holes as best as I...

Black "Rubberish" Corrosion on Antenna Connector

Cessnas (and most others) have small drain holes in the belly. There should be one on each side of all the bulkheads. I usually found those holes all plugged with dirt and other debris, and frequently saw watermarks revealing that significant puddles had formed at times.

Black "Rubberish" Corrosion on Antenna Connector

...guess is you have a water leak somewhere and that moisture made its way down the cables/coax to the connector especially if its mounted on the belly. Which is a fairly common issue. And any moisture in that connector, you already have the required components for corrosion to form without the...

    Crawl Space Sump Pump

Just put in a gas range in the rental, was previously electric. Which meant running a new gas line. Once you got over the cobwebs belly crawling wasn't so bad. Just dusty. It was dry however. Add some dampness which probably means mold and were talking a whole new ballgame.

Did FLYING Magazine give away the airplanes or what?

If I recall, it was a choice between the two types, correct? so which would you choose and why? edit: maybe assume ICON hadn't gone belly up, because that probably sways the choice for most folks.....

    Air-to-Air Cessna 172 SP

I flew with Brad and Pat Lee yesterday. We've been planning the photo shoot, but needed to wait for Brad to get their new N-number on the plane... N173PB... they were married in Jan 1973! It was great seeing this kind of love. And of course, the belly shot!

Which airplanes are you most excited about potentially being available in US under MOSAIC / mLSA rules?

SW-51 with retracts. I would have said the Horton Flying Wing with retracts, but it appears they have gone belly up.

    Does AvGas 100LL hurt paint?

Given the number of people here that claim to clean their belly with avgas, I'm gonna go with "no".

    What's For Dinner?

:yeahthat: The ribs I showed in post #278 were back ribs, taken from a rib roast, and I only smoked them for about 3 hours. Much less meat than short ribs, but still delicious.

    What's For Dinner?

Short ribs (flank; belly) have more attached meat than loin/back ribs (what's left after you take a rib steak -- or roast -- off the bone). As to crispy critters, I've read attempts to explain the process (applied to brisket to explain "the stall") as a chemical process akin to the melting of...

...between. I'd be interested in what the assembled gang think. The only difference I'm still looking at is the exact position of the "flag" stripe, relative to the red belly. Close together, or with greater separation? The tail and registration will be as in option 2. Option 1: Option 2:

    Military pilots favor gliders?

...teacher. My Glider instructor in San Marcos was an F4 pilot. Until he dropped a 500lb bomb on a range in FL and it detonated just under his belly. He departed the A/C sideways leaving one of his legs behind. The CAF put him in one of their AT-6s when they put on an airshow at San Marcos...
