    What's your Average Altitude

Sorry that I haven't had time to keep up with you guys but my dad went in the hospital the night that I started this poll and is still not doing very well. But I can see that you talked it out among yourselves due to my lack of input....true pilots! I am somewhat surprised at the confusion of...

    What's your Average Altitude

What is your average altitude when flying VFR on a pleasure flight or just buzzing around for the afternoon? My average is 3500' to 4500'.

Crash on Take Off from Gaston's

I was at 1M1 today and I thought that I heard someone say that the airplane was still in a tree. Did it impact the ground or the top of a tree?

    Sometimes you get lucky

Must be the day / weekend for auto pilot failure, went on a joy ride of this fine arkansas day and about 35 nm out the aircraft started a right bank and kept on going, almost a 90 degree before I got control....who needs an auto pilot on a fine VFR day anyways....seemed to hold the heading...

For crying out loud (warning: aviation related)

I wouldn't worry too much about it, the MOST important thing is that you learned something...correct? You recognized that you where behind the plane....that good, now study why you were behind it and don't let it happen again. I too have been in your shoes and had my CFI ask me “what the hell...

    Headset

Something to think about, you can pay it now or pay it later. I would suggest that you go ahead and buy a good set now and you will have them. If not you will pay more in the long run with the purchase of two different headsets. Mark

    Bittersweet

Richard, sorry that I didn't read the whole thread to get to the point where you made your self clear on what you were saying. I guess we all (at times) think that we are still young and can still do it all. I would say many of us have learned something today...wouldn't you agree? Mark

    Bittersweet

I'm in shock and almost speechless! Everyone is entitled to their opinion….this is a free country. But some have forgotten why! It is because that man and many more like him fought and died for that freedom and many more of our freedoms. And now it offends you? Think about that Richard.

    Up, up and away

Nice Picture! I haven't been up in one but some friends told me that other than the sound of the burner when it is ignited it is the quietest place and ride that they have ever experienced. Mark

    Red Bull Air Race

Have you seen this picture from the Red Bull obstacle course air race in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. This pilot was penalized 10 second for hitting this optical on the course. At 200 mph I would think he was lucky to land without injury to himself or this aircraft. I think I would...
