    Urban Meyer [NA]

It was late night, in the bar area. I sincerely doubt there were many tender age children around. Not defending him, but this keeps getting embellished and blown out of proportion. They're a lot more important things going on to concern ourselves with than what some celebrity or another is...

You do realize this was at an upscale steakhouse, not a strip club?

2021 PoA Site Operations & Improvements Fundraiser!

Registering as a 501c3 isn’t that hard or costly, and once you do you can get discounted or even free cloud services and employer matches to member donations. We did this for my EAA chapter and now get free Google Workspace, plus my employer matches anything I donate to the chapter.

Anyone familiar with Wings 'n Things at CXY?

I got the prop logs, it's a Hartzell HC-C3YR-1RF/F7663R. The blade serial numbers match the last prop overhaul, so I guess the damage must have been pretty slight. I'll call the prop shop on Monday and get more details.

Anyone familiar with Wings 'n Things at CXY?

    It's a fixed gear Saratoga.

Anyone familiar with Wings 'n Things at CXY?

Prop logs requested. The listing says "prop overhauled with new blades". I take it that's bad?

Anyone familiar with Wings 'n Things at CXY?

The prop and governor were overhauled by East Coast Propeller Service and reinstalled. I just have the airframe log entry for that, I'll request the prop log entries.

Anyone familiar with Wings 'n Things at CXY?

We are looking at purchasing and airplane that was porpoised on landing about 15 months ago, resulting in a prop strike and some damage to the nose gear and tail. The engine tear down was done by Mattituck, so no real worries there. The R&R on the engine and the airframe work was done at Wings...

SB569A - exact start of 12 year deadline?

The latest version of the AD is 2012-19-01. The only changes in the various versions that I've seen were to add affected crankshafts and engines, and to remove some methods of compliance. The 12 year deadline remains.

ASI Seminar in King of Prussia, PA

I've been to the last two, found both to be useful and informative, and will definitely be there tonight. I'm hoping to put some faces to screen names.

    Bird strike

10 lbs would be a really big bird, like Bald Eagle size. That would suck.

    GNS530W dead reckoning failure

GPS frames are 30 seconds, so allowing for initial acquisition time that's 32 to 34 full frames before loss of signal. Powers of two are a good reason to suspect firmware issues (probably with some other contributing factor, since this doesn't seem to be a universal problem). I've seen...

How do glass panels compute wind vectors?

Yep. The GPS calculates your ground track and ground speed, the AHRS knows your magnetic heading, and the ADC knows the outside air temperature, pressure altitude, and IAS. The EFIS is programmed with the corrections table to get CAS, so it can use that and the other info from the ADC to...

    172N or PA28-140?

Heh, no. Because in the 172, ATC calls you "Cessna" or "Skyhawk". If they get really confused, you might hear "Skylane". In the PA28s you get "Piper", "Cherokee", "Warrior", "Archer", and sometimes "Arrow" or "Dakota". Theoretically you could also be a "Cruiser" or a "Pathfinder" as well, but...
