    Head Gasket seeping oil?

So I bought this Toyota w/25,000 miles on the odometer. Couple hundred miles later I noticed a thin line of oil on the head near the sealer. Wipe it off and within 500 miles it's back. Is the head gasket seeping oil? No smoke and the car runs fine. No oil in the coolant. What you guys think?

    Full Fwd/Aft Trim

In a typical single engine trainer (C150, C172, Cherokee, Arrow). You're within CG @ GW and the trim sticks [stops working] full fwd or full aft. Power settings and configuration obviously matter, considering this do you still have enough yoke travel to maintain level flight and eventually land...

Some things I learned about aviation today

There are two petroleum engineers that sit near my cube at work. These guys are more entertainment than you could ask for because they know EVERYTHING! They were talking about the 777 accident today. Here's what I learned: The airport was to blame for the accident since "the glide slope" was...

    Rudder Trim out of whack

I flew a Cherokee 235 last Saturday down to Port Aransas, TX. The rudder trim was off but I hadn't flown in awhile and I didn't want to fool with it. The ball was about halfway on the right line. What would you guys do? Hold the right rudder to center the ball (for an hour) or just leave it...

Well after a year of training I got my private cert last weekend. Today I took the family for their first cross country trip. 1 Hour each way in a Piper Warrior II. Kids were nervous at first but settled in pretty quick. I have never seen my son more excited about something. He went from being...

Checkride coming up soon - slow flight

I'm expecting to get the green light to schedule my checkride within the next couple weeks or so. However, I have something that I'd like opinions on from you guys. Maybe you've experienced this and can tell me how to you've dealt with it. I fly a Piper PA-28-161. Slow Flight without flaps -...

    Military Lights out in Bravo

I was down in Clear Lake, TX on July 4th watching the fireworks when I noticed a single bright red light moving across the sky. This was not a red beacon, it was larger than that and a bit fuzzy (for lack of a better word). When he got directly overhead he turned off the light but I could still...

Class B with two major airports - KHOU KIAH

I'll be a student pilot soon and I have a few questions about Houston Class B. KIAH and KHOU seem to share Class B shelves. KIAH AP Comm: CLASS B: 119.7 NORTH 123.8 WEST 133.6 EAST 134.45 SOUTH KHOU AP Comm: CLASS B: 119.7 NORTH 123.8 WEST 134.45 SOUTH 1. By "North & South" do they mean...
