Making the A/C more effective on an old truck?

Insure the recirculation air door is shutting (usually vacuum operated) when in max a/c. Can't cool the cabin if 100 degree air is coming in from outside.

Flight Instructors - Did/Do you enjoy the job?

I get to work with some of the most modivated people I've ever seen. I took an early retirement from an electronics systems engineering career and couldn't be happier instructing part time. I primarily enjoy working on instrument stuff by primary instruction can be very rewarding too. You soon...

    Lesson plans - CFI

Adam, I used the lesson plans from the www.thebackseatpilot.com for both the CFI and CFII flight tests. FOI and CFI study materials

For those of you that like audio books, Librivox.org has the Airplane Flying Handbook, Pilots Handbook of Aeronutical Knowledge and the Aviation Instructors Handbook available for free download. They really helped me and the recordings are done quite well. The only downside is the AFH and PHAK...

    DPE and CFII?

Jim has done three of my past checkrides. Instrument, commercial and multi. He is outstanding, fair and a personable guy. Be prepared and know the PTS/ACS standards and you won't have any issues. Alamosa is a high elevation airport so also be prepared for that. I highly recommend him.

    Color Blindness and a SODA

I currently have a third class medical and a SODA for a successful demonstration of a color light gun signal test that was administered in 1996. As I renew my medical every two years, I just submit the SODA to the AME and don't have to take the color test in the office. The SODA indicates it...
