Ramp agent reprimanded for reporting MX issue

C’mon people, give the guy a break. It’s not like he taped an envelope to a prop!

Any experience with getting E/ABs painted in Mexico?

    Stranded - need alternator help

An alternator mount bolt which causes the alternator to not function correctly while slipping the belt to the point where the pilot can smell burning rubber is “incidental to operations?” When I read the section you quoted I think of things like screws that hold light covers or interior panels...

Car gas and Av Gas basically the same price in LA

According to ForeFlight, the cheapest self serve 100LL at HHR is $5.59 right now. So about a dollar higher than the average of the gasbuddy prices you mentioned. So about the same as nearly everywhere else in the country. Apparently, according to the rest of this thread, things being normal is...

    Overnight Fee Attached To Prop

    That's because there isn't a landing fee.

    Overnight Fee Attached To Prop

Good for Airnav. I don't use Airnav, along with thousands of other people. FWIW if you google "HII airport", the "Website" link on the top result takes you to the city website, where the $11 overnight parking fee is listed on the main page.

    Raptor Aircraft

Actually, Boeing and Saab applied agile as part of a broader digital engineering process for the T-7. Not just to software but to the whole design process- modeling and simulation let's them iterate designs quickly at the system level.

I think a transfer pump to equalize the fluid levels in the cups on each side makes a lot more sense.

Ah ok... previous posts talked about it windmilling. Thanks.

    Raptor Aircraft

Everyone's talking about whether or not the engine "shut itself down". I'm not familiar with the redrive... can it backdrive the engine when the propeller windmills or is there a freewheel mechanism? If the former, whether or not the engine stopped providing fuel is moot- unless the prop fully...

    Going Experimental?

Bell, this is how my amateur brain understands the process you're describing above- please correct me if I'm wrong. If you have a certificated aircraft, and it is one of the models on the Garmin G3X Touch Certified STC, your A&P can install the certified hardware per that STC, reference the...

    America's GPS Problem

Dang, you're right. The FAA should keep some minimum network of VORs operational to ensure safety of IFR flight in the event of a widespread GPS problem!

Still confused. This is like saying I'm not going to get a driver's license because I don't like the DMV.

    No Lead Aviation Fuel

That may be true if it all got distributed homogenously across the planet as it burned. But there are a lot of neighborhoods around airports that have higher lead contamination levels. IIRC this is one of the arguments that the people trying to close Reid-Hillview are making.

    Overhead Break

Here's another thing to consider: I'm a low hour guy who just got his PPL over the summer. I didn't know what the hell an "overhead break" was until I read this thread and then looked it up. I'd never heard the term before. If you're doing this into untowered fields there's a chance that other...
