I'm sure you can. It just depends on how big a check they want you to write. I have just under 100 hrs and my insurance on a 1972 Arrow II is $1,800 per year. The insurance company required me to do 5 hrs with a CFI and another 5 hrs solo before I could take anyone with me flying.

I called about an Arrow they had for sale. I didn't pursue the airplane because it really didn't fit my mission as it was a turbo. After talking to Keith a little about aircraft in general, he mentioned that he was starting to consult buyers on the process. He obviously is very well versed on...

That's exactly what I did a couple months ago! You can get a real nice Arrow in your price range and use it for everything up to and including your commercial rating. It can sip gas at 8.5gph on economy cruise or you can open her up and cruise at 160kts for 11gph. I saw you mention something in...

iPad - this is coming from someone who uses an Android phone everyday. Foreflight is an awesome app and you can't get it on a Android tablet.

    Documenting every hour

I started recording my PPL lessons right before my first solo for the purpose of watching and learning from my mistakes as a student pilot. I asked my CFI if he had a problem with it before I did it and he was completely fine with it. I can tell you first hand it is an EXCELLENT learning tool...

My experience with a Buyers Consultant

I just wanted to drop a note on my experience with a Buyers Consultant (buyers agent) from my recent purchase of a 1972 Arrow II. I feel that I was very capable of doing the transaction myself, but since this was my first aircraft purchase I was also very aware that “I didn’t know what I didn’t...

First time buy - Archer vs Arrow?

Yes...I don't have my complex rating so I need that and 5 hours solo after I get it before I can take passengers up with me.

First time buy - Archer vs Arrow?

The wait is over and yesterday I closed on a 1972 Arrow II...I couldn't be happier! The transaction was very easy and the plane was delivered to me by it's previous owner. Thanks for all the advice, comments, and feedback you all gave me!

First time buy - Archer vs Arrow?

I have been scratching my head now stop to try and figure out why a 160hp 172 is selling more than a comparable 180hp Archer...mind numbing actually. Don't get me wrong, but are they really worth more than an airplane that has more power and is just as capable (if not more) as they are?

First time buy - Archer vs Arrow?

Simple economics actually...this can be explained by the invisible hand theory. "The unobservable (sic) market force that helps the demand and supply of goods in a free market to reach equilibrium automatically is the invisible hand." Said another way, higher demand for Archers versus a lower...
