    Pictures from Diana at OSH

You will have to tell me how to start a thread! Have not done that before and now I feel I suddenly have more time! :dunno: Hey, I'm at last free to "slip the surly bonds of earth" in our 172! I need my 3 hours with our CFI to be checked out, then we can really enjoy our plane! Can't wait!

    Pictures from Diana at OSH

It was a very neat thing to see so many women aviators and I'm so excited to be part of such an awesome community (not just the women)! As a first-time OSH visitor, I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 days there! It was overwhelming because there was so much to see and do. But what impressed me most was...

    Oshkosh and WI flooding

Yes, I'm getting a lot of hours and working towards that final check ride! Cattle are fine - we have enough hills they can get up out of the water. We have two creeks that flow through our farm and we've had a lot of damage in those spots. We still have not gotten our first cutting of hay...

    Oshkosh and WI flooding

The weather has been devestating indeed! So much flooding around us, but we are high and dry up here on our hill! Did a dual cross country today! We could really see the flooding from 2500 feet up! Pretty amazing. Have you been able to fly much?

Progress report on the grass-strip tour

Hubby is close to his check-ride! I've been sitting in on as much as possible, but have not been flying.:+( As soon as he's done, I get to start again! Can hardly wait. Watched a Christen Eagle play in the sky last evening and thought of you!

    Be kind.....

I appreciate you sharing your struggles - it helps me anticipate how to handle the same situation once I solo! I've heard of these things happening and it helps to share with others how we feel about it. I'm not at the level of confidence I need to be yet to solo, but I'm really gaining. So to...

    Grass strip tour in May

*Thank you, thank you! I'm itching to get back in the air! The wind has been way too stiff for us students! We enjoyed hearing Phil Boyer last night at the AOPA Town Meeting! Hope we can keep these fees and added taxes out of the picture for your "grass strip tour!!!":hairraise:

    One step closer.....

Congratulations! I just passed mine 9 days ago (but, who's counting). Didn't do quite as well as you, but for an old gal, I'm pretty happy about it! I too share your ADF handicap! :dunno:

    Grass strip tour in May

Diana, my awesome AOPA Mentor! Wow! You are going to be pretty close in Iowa - it would be fun to come down to see you if I can steal away from work!!! I'll get my cell phone number to you and you can call to let me know when you'll be there!!! That is going to be one awesome adventure for you...

Introduction of a new forum member

Yes, indeed, my husband is Glen! He's been soloing again after a 28 year absence from flying (5 kids and a farm). I watched him do his landings yesterday early and I'm proud of his abilities! He sets her down nice and easy! - Thanks for the warm welcome! And the warning-too late! I've been...
