Why a cartoon character? I'm not 100% sure what the legal ramifications of teaching people to fly and NOT being a CFI is... But technically, if you can teach and know the material, I really don't care if you are a CFI or an AGI or not. The street credibility can't hurt, though, and...

Actually, you don't need to be specifically skilled at instructing... just be capable of carrying an intelligent converstion about flying airplanes.

Training is going digital... you can find most of the ground work on the computer and DVD, and then go work out at the airport with flights. But you have to do it military style... fly everyday, and fly with a purpose. None of this 1.0 once every 2 weeks kind of crap, it won't make the...

Good times... I always liked the days where you could fly up above the clouds and do a simple instrument approach myself. (and pick up a $50 bbq of course).

Bouncing a C152 about 50 feet in the air on landing... turns out there is a reason for a flare.... woops...

You can take practice written tests online at tests4pilots.com (I think that's it)... priceless tool for getting ready to take a $150 test. I can only remember back as far as when they used to be $80 a pop... Lordy pete....

I like staying current with Xplane Flight Sim... not saying that's the only one, nor am I an affiliate, just like the sim... :-)
