Out of annual by one day...

I am one of the "powers that be" as the assistant manager. :D Actually, I did call the FSDO in SLC on Friday, and had a ferry permit in my inbox about 30 minutes later. To be honest, I probably would have just flown it if it was going to take a long time, but I guess it's better to be...

Out of annual by one day...

I'm with ya on that one, our "maintenance officer" sent out an email an hour after the plane was grounded for weather, and only a day and a half before the plane drops out of annual. 35" of snow up here! Needless to say I doubt the plane is any good in powder!

Out of annual by one day...

Guess I will have to call the FSDO in the morning. Hopefully they are quick, I am paying for parking at an airport 19 miles from us!

Not sure, our "Maintenance Officer" just sent out an email saying oh crap, were out of annual on Saturday, that was sent yesterday...

You had me until "pretty sure" I am working my way through the FAR/AIM right now, if someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Out of annual by one day...

We have an airplane that is due for annual on Feb 1st, however the plane is stuck due to weather at an airport 19 miles away. Chances are good that the weather and runway conditions at our home base wont be safe Friday, but are looking good for Saturday or Sunday. While in training, I was...

    Heavy, or Light with Winds?

I knew I should have been more specific. I'm not saying landing in 83 KT winds, given the Cherokee 235 has a max demo xwind of 17 kts, let's use a 10-13 KT crosswind for this example. And thank you Heftiger, good answer. I was leaning towards the heaver side, if only for momentum... That...

    Heavy, or Light with Winds?

I have been researching this a bit, and haven't found there to be a good, straight forward answer. Unless i'm looking in the wrong place. With the winds we're facing on the front range of Colorado (83 mph gusts!) i'm curious if having your plane heavier or lighter is better. Would you consider...

    PPl to career pilot

I know this is of no help to the OP, but for someone to start a paragraph with "BTW," and then complain about proper grammar and writing syntax is kinda stupid. Then, to return and rub it in with a smart ass comment, is showing the kind of person you are. OP'r, the best advice I was given about...

Cabin length on a Cherokee 235...

I wouldn't have flown them if I couldn't keep them behind me, for the same reason the above guy said. If I had to get out in a hurry I didn't want to have to clip in... The cabin length is about 7.5 feet from the extended baggage to the instrument panels. The skis we took were almost exactly...

How often do you do it?

:no: I try and fly at least twice a month. Normally one local and one XC to see somewhere new.

Cabin length on a Cherokee 235...

500# of humans. 50# of cargo. 300# fuel. Mod turb airmet. Bumpy flight, bumpy landing, but only because of the winds swirling. The plane did excellent though.

Cabin length on a Cherokee 235...

For anyone in the future looking to put skis in a pre-73 Cherokee, we were able to fit 6' length skis from the extended baggage shelf, over the rear seats, and just behind the pilot seat. Tied them down so they wouldn't move and they flew fine. Also, Telluride is an incredible place to fly...

Cabin length on a Cherokee 235...

One is a 1966 PA-28-235, that's the one I will be taking. The other one is a 1964. I will have to see when the stretch was done. We have the extended baggage above the actual baggage too, so I am hopeful. EDIT: Oops, "pre-73" pretty much answers that question!

Cabin length on a Cherokee 235...

Anyone know the cabin length on a Cherokee 235? Need to know if a set of skis will fit in there, about 5.8 feet long... I can find height and width of them, but not length of the usable cabin space. Thanks! Cody
