Thai A380 Really hard landing at Narita Tokyo

I wonder how many landings like that they can get out of a set of tires?

Where is the "Southeast practice area" near KAUS (Austin, TX)?

Funny, I fly out of Bergstrom regularly and had not heard of that airspace specifically referred to as a practice area. However that is typically where we go for airwork on checkouts or flight reviews.

    Flying in Austin

I fly with Above and Beyond Aviation out of Bergstrom. Solid aircraft and the instructors seem to be good. I've heard good things about Pilot's Choice in Georgetown. Been thinking about getting checked out there. We are in NW Austin and are about equidistant to both airports. All the orange...

    Mid Day Work Break

I think the prop control on those was electric so no mechanical linkage equivalent to throttle or mixture. Probably a rheostat or something to dial in RPM's. On another note, I wonder if balancing fuel burn on that thing kept that poor guy up nights?

I'd go with the SR20 unless the SUV aspect was absolutely needed. Inflatable cello, hmm...development project anyone?

    vor question

I couldn't get the link to work in Internet Explorer but it did work in Google Chrome. Pretty simple but I could likely waste a shocking amount of time flying that little airplane around.

    Oh Harbor Freight....

Yep, he mostly has it figured out. Our ops guy bought a hand truck from there and the tires on that thing smell like a cheap cigar that has been in a dog's backside. However, I'm still pretty sure that part of that smell is from rendered down dissidents that go into that odd protective grease...

    Well.......

There are a lot of interesting points to Austin and plenty of things to do. Good food scene if you are into that at all. Traffic is a bit oppressive at times but you can get across town in 30 min if you time it right. I fly out of Bergstrom. Also interesting but there is a definite time...

    Interesting "paint job"

I can only see the A/C when zoomed out and can't tell much about the paint. Maybe I'm at the wrong airport, that happens sometimes...

    Facebook - the bad side.

I'm with you on that. I am one of the approximately four people without a Facebook account simply because I have no desire to post my minute by minute movements and activities for the world to view. My wife, who updates probably about every two minutes as the iphone hardly leaves her hand, is...
