We are flying down April 4/5 to Sun n Fun. Done the campin' thing at KOSH many times but not in Florida. I am guessing:

* There's no shade - zilch
* Thunderstorms are to be expected

What else? Is there a best practice when it comes to not getting soaked in your tent? Or having your plane remain right-side-up? And no, I don't have a high-wing. Any advice would be appreciated!

I've only camped there once (last year), but will be doing so again this year. I have camped at OSH several times.

Functionally, there's no real difference. It's basically the same deal. For restrooms and showers, you have to walk into the RV camping area, but that's not a big problem.

If you're getting soaked in your tent, you need a new tent.

Make sure to tie down your airplane. Expect a thunderstorm or two, just like at OSH.

* There's no shade - zilch

Not sure what you mean there. Sure, there's no shade in the aircraft parking/camping area (hard to taxi around trees), but I found there was actually more shade around the grounds than at OSH. Lots of big trees. The RV camping area is almost completely in shade, as are some of the surrounding areas.

Hopefully you are a light sleeper or someone may tag your tent with P.O.A.

Its a thing now!!
