A photo of Montserrat from the SE at 9500'.

You should be able to discern gases being spewed from the peak of Soufriere Hills on the southern end of the island (vapors are drifting west). Beneath the peak to the right is the flow that smothered the original airport.

I don't think that's Russian. It looks like an old US search and rescue helicopter. In the 80s there was a TV show that featured one painted ugly pink.

This is what the fog looked like this morning two hours after it was fog. Went up and down all day. Annoying, hard to teach stalls and slow flight when the airlines are flying slightly higher. Was at 3000MSL, 2000AGL. Newark, OH

I got grounded at Noon. Had to canx two flights with students. Newark was surrounded by that crap. Sucky Ohio weather, I agree.

Worse though, one of my students had his check ride scheduled at KHAO north of Cincy and canx because there is FZFG forecast all around cincy.

But yea, now I do not have to go to Cincy tomorrow for the check ride. So I think I will ride my Harley instead.

Cool pic. I think those are called cloud streets (or chemtrails) and good for gliding but I don't know if you ride them parallel or perpendicular.
